This rack is not closed on one end. This is one of 3 models of rear basket racks we sell on this web site. Model 2 is the second largest in size. Some people use Model 2 as a front basket rack on the ATV to put a deer in so the rear wheels of the ATV does not come up off the ground when traveling up an incline. Model 3 is the largest and is a drop basket. Model 1 is the smallest of the 3 models and can be used as a front basket rack. Hand rubber dipped expanded metal on days of low humidity for years of use. Great for hauling anything you don't wish to scratch, like a chain saw. Smooth corners. ALWAYS limit the weight of what you place of the rear basket rack according to your ATV manufacturer's guidelines. Going up steep hills with to much weight on the rear of an ATV is dangerous. Always shift your weight towards the front of your ATV when going up any hills. Disclaimer: HHS accepts no responsibility for added weight on an ATV. Look at your owners manual for suggested weight on front or rear racks.
